The 80’s are Hot! Here is an opportunity to pick up the best of the best! “I think of this design as sort of “New Constructivist” a style reminiscent of black tie affairs in the 20’s and 30’s” states architect/designer James Evanson for Interior Design Magazine Dec. 1986. The bar was part of an exhibition by Art & Industry where 8 artists were invited to display a bar based on their aesthetic vision. The bars were made by the artists and Ettore Sottsas founder of the Memphis Group scored the Comet Club Best in Show.
This exquisite gem is constructed of Oak and black lacquered. Accenting the black lacquer is rubbed-in graphite to give a metallic sheen silk screens and inset squares of silver leaf. There is a stainless steel footrest that runs along the base.
